Walking with a Limp

Aug 9, 2026    Pastor Tom McMahon

What happens when God meets you between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming? In Genesis 32 Jacob finds himself in a defining moment. He is caught between his past and his future—between the man he has always been and the man God is calling him to become. His encounter with God changes him forever, but it also leaves him walking with a limp.

Jacob’s story reminds us that sometimes God changes our identity by first confronting the things we’ve been running from.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8

Sometimes the evidence that God has changed you isn't that you walk away without scars—it's that you walk differently because of them.

Maybe you're standing in that same place today: somewhere between your past and your future.

You may be walking with a limp, but God is still walking with you.

Trust Him. Surrender to Him. Become who He has called you to be.
